I think it depends on how realistic they are. For example, the idea of anyone can do anything as long as the work hard enough or put their mind to it or whatever, isn’t accurate. If it was, we could all be rocket scientists, Olympic medalists, rock stars or whatever it was we dreamed of. We all have strengths and weaknesses and telling our children they can do anything is doing them a disservice.
