Medium, Can You Please Post Actual Related Stories or At Least List the Authors on the Unrelated Clickbait Stories You List on My Articles?

The way Medium lists related stories on articles can be harmful to writers in several ways

I apologize ahead of time for writing another Medium related story. However, this is not a blatant attempt to get people to read by promising to help them succeed on the platform. It is, however, a complaint about something I’ve had less of a problem with in the past. Or at least I was able to turn a blind eye. However, now I feel the practice is harming my viewership and possibly my reputation, and the same for other writers, so I feel it’s time to speak out.

Medium is not the only platform that lists related content on article sidebars. It’s also not the only platform that does so without input from the writer about what other content they want advertised on their articles. I have had an issue with this on other platforms, largely because it takes readers away from my own content and sends them in some cases to entirely different sites.

In one case, it was done a way of advertising the content on a new site that was already paying its writers significantly more than we were getting while content on the new site…
