So many times words are repeated so often they lose the power they once had and as you pointed out also sometimes the real meaning behind them. We toss off phrases like “fake news” and “election tampering” without feeling any try distress and even responses to tragedy like, “How horrible!” without feeling more than a moment of upset but not the horror we truly should be feeling. The words “I love you,” as you point out so well here, are probably the ones we have diluted the most, even when we do truly love the person. I love how you and your husband decided to make sure they always had meaning for the two of you, and how you have taken to the habit of pointing out what you appreciate about each other. This is an amazing idea that we can all learn from.
