Thank you for sharing this story. I think that it is easy to forget that this happened not very far in the past and that it isn’t actually fully in the past at all. Hearing these things from people who actually lived them gives us all a better appreciation for them, and hopefully helps make us more aware so we can continue to move forward not backwards.
