This is something I've been thinking about. At one point I was up to $350 a month and thinking that every month I could get it to go up even if only a little. Then came a wave of changes and I dropped suddenly to under $200. I still usually manage to make $200 but it means I have to have at least one big earner for the month and a bunch of others that are at least somewhat popular. I have become very despondant and don't get excited about writing anymore. It's just a chore that I have to do but there's no striving to write constantly in the hopes that I can earn enough to pay the bills. That's the really tough thing. I wasn't trying to become a millionaire from Medium, just to earn enough to pay my bills. I had this crazy notion that by the end of year one I could be making $500, by the end of year 2 $1000 and by the end of year 3 would be making enough to pay my bills. But now that I seem to be stagnant at about $200 a month I've been looking for other options and platforms. There just aren't really any other great ones out there. I'm trying News Break but will likely drop it after the third month since I won't have enough monthly followers or views to earn anything and it's all or nothing over there. You earn at least $1000 a month or $0 and I'm not going to work to put money into their pocket when they pay me nothing. I've tried vocal but after about a month I've earned exactly $.28 which seems like what others are experiencing. I wrote on Hubpages for a while but their payment structure is also screwy and different from person to person with no transparency. So no I'm on to thinking about KDP. Again though my inspiration is so sapped right now I just don't have the energy. Hope you New Year is everything you want it to be!
