Yeah, I think when we become editors we get worse about this than before.

As a freelance writer, I am entirely too familiar with waiting. Checking Submittable fifteen times a day, watching for the status to switch from “New” to “In-Progress.” Checking email countless times a day, waiting for editors to respond. I am well acquainted with the “submit and forget” advice, I even wrote a thing about it —
